Salcedo Weekend Market

Wen’t to Salcedo Weekend Market (that’s in Makati for those who are not very familiar with Metro Manila) one weekend of September.

I had fun watching the other shoppers, mostly ex-pats, enjoy their Saturday morning. Organic vegetables and ready to eat, cooked meal, abound the market. They also had children’s favorites, ice cream and cotton candy. Plants were also sold. They also had free cooking lessons for those who have the time to sit and listen.

As I am a Dabawenya, I laughed at the sight of most of the fruits being sold – lanzones at 175/kilo! Hello!? Allright so those are from Bangkok, but the Davao ones are at 70/kilo as well (tag BAYNTE lang na uy, pwede pa 18 or 15, mwahaha). Couldn’t buy organic vegetables as I wasn’t going go home right after, maybe next time.

You might want to visit as well. I might go there again actually. It felt nice walking around, taking pictures, enjoying my ice cream. For awhile, mostly because there were a lot of ex pats and other foreign looking Pinoys, you’ll actually feel like you’re not in the country, so feeling nag out of town/country ka na din.
